We know it’s been a while since we posted, sorry – free time has become very rare!!! Anyway – here is an update on the whole Wheeler family.
Kaili is growing by leaps and bounds. She cannot learn fast enough, she is like a sponge. We found out at Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Roxie’s that she really likes Lego’s, especially when Seth puts them together and then she takes them apart.
Kaili has also come a long way on her trust with us, especially when it comes to food. When we first received her, she would down her bottle in less than 5 minutes and would also pack food in her cheeks. Now she takes her time drinking and when we try to give her another bite of food, and she still has some in her mouth – she will shake her head “no” at us. It’s just amazing how far she has come in such a short time.
Garrett has had an eventful week. He totaled his car on Tuesday morning when a deer ran out in front of him. He swerved to miss it and turned his car on its side. We went over to Elkins on Wednesday to check him out. He has some cuts and lots of bruises from the airbag and his seatbelt, but was in good health when we left. After arriving back at home he called to inform us he slipped on the newly waxed floor in his dorm suite and dislocated his shoulder. We had tried to get him to come home thru the weekend; he wishes he had now.
Jeremy, Rose and Mikah are doing great. Jeremy had surgery on his shoulder while we were in China. He has recovered very well and is now back to work. (We know that Rose is very happy about that!!!!) Mikah is now 6 months old. At his last check-up he weighed in at 24 lbs and is almost 27” long. Yep – he’s a chunk!!! He currently has 2 teeth, with more on the way.
Many of you are aware that Deborah’s sister is also adopting from China. Well, they are currently in China and will be receiving Leah on Sunday. We have been faithfully watching Heather and Matthew’s journey to get Leah. They ended up getting the same guide we had, so we are resting a little easier now. Mabel is a great guide and will take great care of Heather, Matthew and Leah. We know many of you have asked us for the address to their blog – well here it is http://www.blessed4x.blogspot.com/ .
We love and miss you all.

Thanks for the update. Great pictures as well. Glad G is doing OK. Beginning to sound like someone else I know!! Thanks for Heather and Matt's blog as well. Blessings.
Hi - Just wanted you to know we love reading your blog & catching up on Kaili's progress. We've met Deb before when she was in Magnolia and Heather gave us your blog. This is the second time I've read thru everything and I cry each time! We are so thankful for families like yours and Diehl's who welcome these children as their own.
Many Blessings,
Dawn, Mike, Michael, & Paul Roberts
